This show was held on Saturday 7th December 2019 at the now regular venue of the Old Mill Hall, School Lane, Grove, Wantage, Oxon OX12 7LB. Our Main Show judge was Debbie Stansbury and during lunch time the Special Members Awards was be judged by Robyn Burnett.

MAIN SHOW JUDGE’S REPORT

Many thanks to the Officers & Committee for inviting me to judge this friendly show.  Thanks also to my excellent steward.  Movement was a little difficult on the slippery floor. All dogs were in good condition & I thank the exhibitors for accepting my decisions gracefully.  There were a few untypical heads & fronts need to be addressed.

 

JUNIOR DOG – 3, 1 abs

In this slow maturing breed, both were in differing stages of development.

1^st – Kernow Loving Pledge – 15 month male, balanced body shape with good angles front & rear.  Typical head, good dentition, balanced neck into a level backline held on the move just a fraction close in front.

2^nd – Parwizz vom Durrbachler Wald At Arvella (Imp Nld) – 14 month male.  Slightly smaller in stature, medium white blaze on his head, good bone & tight feet.  At this stage needing to come up in front & slightly straight behind but moved freely.

 

YEARLING DOG – 4

1^st – Jaybiem Modus Operandi JW – 19 month compact male of good breed type.  Typical strong, masculine head with a flat skull, dark eye & good dentition.  Balanced in stance with good angles front & moderate rear, medium length of neck & level backline.  Compact body shape in profile.  Well boned with tight feet, he retained his balance as he moved freely & soundly – Best Dog & Best In Show

2^nd – Collansues Crazy Dreams – 19 month male.  Typical strong head with dark eye & good dentition, just fractionally shorter in front leg & not quite so compact as one.  Moved freely.

3^rd – Kernow Loving Pledge

4^th – Collansues Wildest Dreams

 

NOVICE DOG – 4, 1 abs

1^st – Kernow Loving Pledge

2^nd – Bernark’s Mount Snowdon – 2 year old male with a good shaped head but slightly bulbous eyes.  Good layback of shoulder but narrow in front & slightly straight behind.

3^rd – Parwizz vom Durrbachler Wald At Arvella (Imp Nld)

 

POST GRADUATE DOG – 1

1^st – Napoleon vom Durrbachler Wald At Waldershelf (Imp Nld) – 2 year old male with a good head, dark eye, good dentition, well boned with tight feet, good angles front & rear & moved soundly & freely.  Just a fraction longer in body.

 

LIMIT DOG – 3, 1 abs

1^st – Kernow Billy No Mates At Jukesbern – 18 month male of good size & breed type.  Typical head, dark eye, medium length of neck into balanced angles front & rear.  Moves freely just toes in fractionally in front – Reserve Best Dog

2^nd – Kernow Something Perfect – 3 year old male, again of good breed type overall.  Well boned with tight feet, a little narrow in front & fractionally toeing out.  Moved freely holding his backline.

OPEN DOG – 3, 2 abs

1^st – Joseph vom Durrbachler Wald At Arvella JW (Imp Nld) – 3 year old male with a good strong head & dark eye.  Medium length of neck into good angles front & rear.  Well boned front legs but weak in pastern & feet not so tight.  Moved freely.

 

VETERAN DOG – 1

1^st – Ch Collansues Black Magic – 8 year old male.  Taller male with a good strong head.  Medium length of neck & well boned front legs, slightly weaker in pastern.  Good layback of shoulder & level backline held on the move.  Moving wide in front & rear.

 

VETERAN BITCH – 1

1^st – Bernark’s Super Summer – 8.5 year old feminine female of good breed type who is still

sprightly & agile.  Feminine but strong head, good dentition, balanced in neck, level backline held on the move just toes out fractionally as she moved freely – Best Veteran In Show

 

JUNIOR BITCH – 4, 1 abs

1^st – Olivia vom Durrbachler Wald At Arvella (Imp Nld) – 17 month feminine female with a strong head, medium length of neck into good angles front & rear.  Well boned front legs & moves freely.

2^nd – Cullumbern Valencia Millermead JW – 12 month feminine female compact in body shape with a good head & dark eye.  Fractionally upright in front & toeing out slightly with good rear angles & moving freely.

3^rd – Tamarbern Tia Mkira Abjess

 

YEARLING BITCH – 5, 2 abs

1^st – Nelstephbern Dior Foreva – 2 year old female of good breed type with a feminine head & dark eye.  Well boned with tight feet, medium length of neck into good angles front & rear, nothing over or under done & moving freely – Reserve Best Bitch

2^nd – Cullumbern Valencia Millermead JW

3^rd – Tamarbern Tia Mkira Abjess

 

GRADUATE BITCH – 4

1^st – Bernark’s Now Or Never – 4 year old female of good breed type.  Good head with a flat skull, compact body shape, good angles front & rear with a level backline held as she moved freely.

2^nd – Cullumbern Valencia Millermead JW

3^rd – Tamarbern Tia Mkira Abjess

4^th – Hypeak’s Coast Of Jima

 

OPEN BITCH – 4, 2 abs

1^st – Ch Kernow All My Loving – 5 year old female of good breed type.  Strong but feminine head, dark eye into a medium length of neck.  Good angles front & rear & held her balance as she moved freely – Best Bitch, Best Opposite Sex & Reserve Best In Show

 

2^nd – Hypeak’s Coast Of Jima – 5.5 year old female fractionally lighter in bone & with a slightly domed skull, good shaped head front on  & dark eye into medium length of neck.  Angles OK & moved freely.

 

BRACE – 2 (4 Dogs)

I admire both these ladies for their ability to move both together & both pairs behaved impeccably

I would like to thank the committee for giving the opportunity to judge your members award at your winter open show.  I would also like to thank the exhibitors for giving me the chance to go over your dogs and your sporting attitude to my placing.  Thank you.  Temperaments were good throughout

Special Award Puppy (1, 1a)

Special Award Junior (5, 1a) 1 King & Green’s Olivia vom Durbachler Wald at Arvella (imp Nld) 15 month old bitch. Feminine head with a kind expression. Dark eye well set ears, scissor bite, strong neck, good front and rear angulation ample bone, nice body proportions.  Correct tail, good bend to stifle.  Moved well keeping a level topline.  2. Akehurst’s Kernow Loving Pledge 15 month old dog with dark almond eye although eyelids a little loose, kind expression, good bite, flat skull, strong neck, good bone, slightly longer in loin than 1.  In good coat,  feet ever so slightly out at rear, correct tail reaching just below hock, presented and moved well

Special Award Post Graduate (6, 2a) 1. Sutton & Davenport’s  Nellstephbern Dior Foreva beautiful bitch who is just shy of her 2^nd birthday, pleasing feminine head, flat skull with slight furrow, strong scissor bite, sweet expression, good colour distribution, strong neck into good shoulders, straight forelegs, 9:10 body ratio, hocks well let down, pleasing front and rear angulation,  compact feet, moved with ease 2. Hallam’s Napoleon vom Durbachler Wald at Waldershelf (Imp Nld) 2 ½ year old strong male with a rich brown, masculine head, dark eye, correct scissor bite, well defined stop and strong muzzle, strong muscular neck, broad chest, good depth of brisket, pleasing front and rear angulation, moved out well strong tail, shown in good coat.  Pleasing profile shape

Special Award Open (3) A hard decision but on the day I felt that 1 just showed himself off that little bit more, but could so easily change places on another day 1. King & Green’s Joseph vom Durbachler Wald at Arvella JW (Imp Nld)  3 year old male with dark eye and masculine head, scissor bite, Strong neck into correctly laid shoulder,  broad chest, well ribbed, good coat, well bent stifle, strong hocks, correct tailset.  Good front and rear angulation, moved out true holding his topline 2. Akehurst & Bridge’s Ch Kernow All My Loving 5 year old mature bitch. Feminine expression, Correct bite, dark eye with well fitting eyelids, well defined stop, flat skull, Good ear set. Strong neck into correctly laid shoulder, forelegs straight from all sides, good strong feet and pastern, strong hocks, correct tail. Overall shape and proportions pleasing to the eye.  Sound mover in good coat
