The show went ahead as usual with maybe not quite the usual bright sunshine but we’ll settle for the dry day we got with weak sunshine.
As usual many people helped with the show, we are really grateful for all the help we get, we simply could not run our events without this help from the members. Like our other events this show is a team effort and everyone who helped is really appreciated. We thank the members who sponsor rosettes or donate raffle prizes, everything helps to build up an event. We thank our judges, Marion Sargent and Donna Whincup for giving up their time for us, especially Donna who had just overseen delivery of 14 puppies, and we hope to see them again in the future officiating over our breed.
We would particularly thank Happy Dog for their continuing generous sponsorship with prizes of their quality food for every class winner as well as specials for the main winners. It is not an easy time for companies nowadays so we really appreciate their help.
The Main Winners are pictured below followed by full results and photos and the Members Awards judge’s report. The Open show judge’s report will appear here when available so please keep revisiting.
Club President Mark Wakeland presenting judge Marion Sargent with her commemorative plate as a thank you for her judging.

My thanks to the Officer & Committee for inviting me to judge this club show. It is always an honour to be invited and my thanks to the exhibitors for entering under me. It was good to see so many turning out for a club show. Excellent refreshments, and a very good steward who kept the ring flowing.
Minor Puppy Dog (2,0)
1st Faircloughs Monalou Galloping Gourmet – 8 1⁄2 mth old, lovely size and balance, pleasing head with good proportions , eye could be tighter, but I am sure this will come as the head matures, good ear set, good neck, nice depth, front a touch narrow at the moment, well ribbed body, good rump, good topline & tailset, moved well for a baby.
2nd Watkins Monalou Paul Hollywood – 9 mth old, another nice size and make, just going through that growing stage, head needs to catch up with body for balance, pleasing head proportions though, with good shape eye, good ear set, strong neck, pleasing body with good ribbing, touch bum high at the minute, nice rump, pleasing profile movement.
Puppy Dog (2,0)
1st Watkins Monalou Paul Hollywood – repeat

2nd Watsons Stepdashar Winters Wish – preferred the size of this bitch, and pleasing to go over, touch heavy over brows which spoilt expression for me, but good eye shape and good ear set, good neck, front could be stronger, nice ribbing & loin, good rear, again nice on the move.

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge the special classes at your Open show. I was made to feel very welcome. Many thanks also to my ring steward Karen Bird for doing a sterling job.
Class A-Special Members Puppy Award Dog/Bitch 1 entry 0 absent.
1st Mr & Mrs Gould Waldershelf Lexiellent 9 month old bitch well up to size, appropriately named as she sports many excellent breed qualities. Loved her head and its balanced proportions, correct flat skull, ears set high and in harmony with her head. Good breadth and depth to muzzle, correct scissor bite and stunningly marked giving her a very feminine look, nice dark eye well fitted and set well. Strong medium neck into a great front assembly, strong straight front legs sat on short round compact feet. Good flexibility to pastern. Nice body ratio’s broad chest with good depth of brisket. She is well ribbed back and has a short well muscled loin. Level topline leading in to her tail which is set well and carried correctly. Well angulated with good depth of thigh for one so young, strong hocks well let down this gave her the tools to be able to move with good reach and drive giving her an effortless gait. Liked her overall shape and balance. In good coat with good breed markings, one to watch .
Class B – Special Members Junior awards Dog/Bitch 0 entered 0 absent
Class C Special Members Post Graduate awards Dog/Bitch 4 entered 1 absent
1st Mrs S Watson Stepdashar Winter Wish. 2 year old bitch feminine bitch of good quality. Dark eyes, well set ears of good shape, nice depth to muzzle with good furrow, flat back skull, medium strong neck in to a well angulated front, good lay of shoulder and length to upper arm enabling her to have good reach on the move, strong straight front legs, sat well rounded feet. Elbows tight to brisket which has good depth. Strong topline and well muscled loin, well angulated rear, hocks well let down tail set and carried well. She has substance and balance and is well turned out, she made the most of her time on the floor covering the ground with her free flowing movement. Alot to like.
2nd Marsden & Robertson Tickbern Valincza nearly 2 years old a bitch of good proportions, i liked her overall balance and shape, she is larger than my class winner but still retained her femininity kind in head and expression with correct ear shape and set. Dark kind eye, muzzle has good depth and width with correct dentition. Muscular neck in to well laid shoulders. Good well boned straight front legs sat on fabulous well attended feet.Elbows close to brisket , strong loin and well ribbed back. Liked the rear angulation of this bitch and her quality when moving, she lost out today as for me she was just too heavy, carrying a little bit too much weight. Beautifully marked and in good coat.
3rd Mr & Mrs D Jefferson Shirdees Fast & Furious, my winner of this class when stood, he has so much quality and breed type, his balanced outline just shone through, not sure if the ring was too small, but his handler could not get him to stride out, he tends to watch his owner when moving which alters his gait totally. I feel with good guidance and advice he can turn this bad habit around thus enabling his handler to get the best out of him. I felt I need to point out why he took a 3rd place today, but you can only judge on the day.
Class D Special Members Open award Dog/Bitch 5 entered 1 absent.
This class could have been so different on another day as my top 3 places could have swapped. My decision today was made purely on weight. My second and third places today were just too over weight. They are a strong breed with good bone who should be active and alert, that is not a standard that says heavy due to weight.
1st Hughes Waldershelf Causing Kaos ShCM 5 year old dog who has style, substance and breed type, for me he has a little too much white on his head, but weighing up all his other qualities I could forgive this. He sports a very masculine head, good width to flat back skull, ears set well and of good shape, dark eye and good depth and width to muzzle. Would like a little more neck, he has a well constructed front assembly, elbows tight to body, he is well ribbed back. Well angulated rear with good muscle tone to second thigh. Hocks well let down, tail set correct. He was in good coat. He won the class on his movement, with his free flowing reach and drive, I loved the bounce in his rear action, he is handled sympathetically, would like a little more strength to topline which would give a better outline.
2nd Mrs S Watson Stepdashar Sommer Girl, feminine 5 year old bitch, great bone and substance kind in head with beautifully set ears, dark eye,. Medium length of neck in to a well angulated front. Straight front legs sat on really good firm round feet. Well ribbed back, strong powerful loin giving her a super topline and creating a wonderful outline, balanced all through, and moved well, but just too heavy today.
