Links to the information pages to our club events will be added to the wording below when the pages are available.
The club will have its usual ringside presence at Crufts at the NEC near Birmingham with the Club’s Bernershop selling breed and club related items and the club’s latest mailing including the 2026 handbook available for members to collect. This year the Working Group is back to the first day of Crufts, namely Thursday 5th March.
As always the first independent club event of the year will be the Annual General Meeting where all members have their chance to hear reports and comment on the running of the club. This will be held at the Kennel Club Building at Stoneleigh Park on Sunday 19th April. Just click on the AGM title for details of the meeting and to access the agenda.
Following the success of our trials of recent years using various formats for our Spring and Autumn Garden Party week-ends, we have decided to continue with a similar programme to 2025 but with a small changes to the schedule, which in 2025 was adjusted due to the effects of the large BMD event in the USA.
The Spring Garden Party & Open Show Weekend will be held at Hollowell Steam Rally site in Northants over 2nd and 3rd of May with two Open Shows on Saturday and the Garden Party on the Sunday.
One Open show will be held in the morning followed by the second Open Show in the afternoon. There will be an Saturday evening Social event followed by the Garden Party on the Sunday with the usual fun classes, Agility and Carting opportunities, Obedience classes, plenty of food and drink available and of course the opportunity to camp on site for a long weekend.
Full details and how to book camping will be included in our Spring mailing available from Crufts in early March 2025 onwards.
The Autumn Garden Party & Championship Show Weekend will also be held at Hollowell Steam Rally site in Northants over 29th and 30th of August with the Championship Show on Saturday and the Garden Party on the Sunday.
Basically the club’s 2026 Championship Show will be held on the Saturday and the Autumn Garden Party on the Sunday, both with all the usual activities and components and linked by a Social Evening on site.
Health Testing – As in recent years the club will be offering Dr Rich Irvine as our on site Veterinary Surgeon undertaking blood testing for HS & DM, (and everything else that comes in that package), as well as Titre testing for vaccine immunity levels to reduce the need to unnecessary vaccines. These tests have proved increasingly popular in recent years so we hope to find good support for them again and we plan to offer them later on Saturday and again on Sunday as usual with places reserved by advance booking.
Full details and how to book camping will be forwarded to members in due course and available from this web site.
Assistance always welcome – All our main events are now coalesced into two week-ends with two very full days and a busy evening in-between, not to mention the build up week beforehand where many campers ‘muck in’ to help. Whilst this structure doesn’t suit absolutely everyone the vast majority of feedback has remained very positive about this format and many enjoy staying for a Bernese week-end fix. However, these week-ends do test our very limited committee and sub committee and regular helpers to extremes at times, so we always welcome any offers of assistance from anyone visiting the events. If you can give us just an hour or two of your time over the week-end please contact our organisers to discuss this. Thank you.

Please be aware all details are given in good faith and the club can accept no responsibility for any amendments, cancellations or honest errors. Anyone visiting any event in this financially and climatically volatile world , including our club events, should always make their own checks before actually travelling. This web site will be updated in the event of any club cancellations or changes and the club’s Social Media would be utilised to inform members and other visitors as widely as possible. The club can accept no responsibility for travel made to a cancelled event but we would only ever cancel any event very reluctantly and always give as much notice as possible.
On the other hand, we have learnt that our main venue at Hollowell has incredible drainage and can withstand severe rainfall so conversely do not presume events will be cancelled due to inclement wet weather but please check before travel if there might be any doubts.
