The BIWG is the Berner International Working Group who meet every few years to compare and collate BMD health information from different countries. Clubs in every country are invited to send representation and present the breed’s position in their country and the issues raised are discussed between the group and compared between countries.
The meeting is hosted by different countries and clubs in turn and usually arranged around a major event such as the main show of the year or, as in our case this year, as part of a special celebration including shows and other activities. The meeting is chaired by the President of the BIWG, currently Martha Cehrs, former President of the KBS, the Swiss BMD club.
The BMDC of GB is proud to be hosting the BIWG for the second time, only the second club, after the KBS themselves, to do this more than once and looks forward to welcoming all the members of the BIWG to our special week.
Subject to space and arrangements, interested persons are welcome to observe and listen to the BIWG meeting. If not a nominated representative, you may need to reserve a place and may be sat separately for clarity but most people genuinely interested in the breed’s health will enjoy listening to the reports from around the world. We have ample space at our meeting so virtually anyone with the interest can attend to listen to the meeting. Each representative will outline the Bernese health position from their own country.
If you are attending representing a club and to take part in the meeting then you need to book a place as a delegate and if wanting to just attend out of interest just to follow the meeting then you need to book a place as a spectator. Scroll down to section 4 and use the drop down arrow in the booking section.
Please note, due to the SumUp Online Booking system we are using to book places a nominal charge of 1 penny (£0.01) will be whichever status made you choose.
Whether you can attend the meeting or not if you are interested in finding out more about the BIWG you can visit their webs site
Thank you

There is masses of information on this web site to help you book to join us, these are some of the links and some of these pages will have additional relevant links. We have tried to break things down into sections because there is such alot of information to pass on about so many events. This is probably the largest BMD event ever held outside of the American Specialities with daytime and evening activities to cover so please take a few moments to take in what you need to do to be a part of it.
