21 May Club’s Photo viewing platform

You have clicked to visit the Club’s Smugmug photo viewing platform displaying photos from Club events in a gallery format.

…… but if you are a first time visitor it may just help you to see the information below, although the system uses fairly typical nomenclature.

Maybe not everyone is aware that the club has a separate photo viewing platform in the form of a Smugmug Account. Here you can find photos, and an occasional video, from many club events going back many years, with a few historic ones from a long time ago.

This platform has been subject to numerous updates in recent weeks with many events from recent years being added, and more events from more years still to upload in the coming months as we are able to prepare and upload them. Why not take a look and see if you remember any of the faces or recognise yourself or your dogs.

What can I see?  The majority of photos to be found on this platform will previously have been found on the relevant web site report or sometimes have been published in our Club hard copy products as well. However, older web site reports have long disappeared and there there will often be additional photos that could not be accommodated in the original reports. There is also an historical aspect to the albums on this platform giving us a facility to look back at club events, sometimes displaying donated photos from older Club events.

If you have been a regular attender at Club events over the years then you will see faces and dogs you may have forgotten, maybe some slightly younger looking, and sadly a few who are no longer with us but have left their mark in our memories.

Please be aware that further historic Club events will be added as time allows to fill in many of the gaps in the timeline of events offered to date, so if you like to look back remember to revisit from time to time.

If you, or maybe older family members, have any photos from old club events, especially from 20 years plus ago, please let us know so we can preserve them using this facility.

Not only ‘stills’ Additionally there may be an occasional video amongst the photos.

What do I do? When you click on the offered link you will be first go to the homepage of the Club’s SmugMug account and can scroll down to see a list of events, each illustrated by one of the photos from that event. Click one of these to view the available photos from that event.

Will vary slightly We cannot explain exactly what everyone needs to do because the exact layout and process will vary slightly depending on your type of device and operating system, but after selecting your event you are offered a page of photos which you can scroll around and click on individually to enlarge and scroll through using the arrows to the left and right, or you can usually see a “play arrow” somewhere to start a slide show, which you can set off to play but then skip through quicker or utilise pause if you want to look at something for longer. To go back to the index page use the arrows of your browser or use the cross in the top right corner to cancel the viewing of that folder.
