RKC Breeding For Health Framework

As mentioned in the health reviews in both the Club’s Dec 25 magazine and 2026 handbook The Royal Kennel Club have revised and restructured their health department being keen to actively engage with breeds where they can help but also being realistic about their capability. They have recently published their Breeding for Health Framework explaining how their health work is going to be structured in the coming years. The graphic outlines this and much more can be read in the linked report.

The Breeding for Health report can be accessed

This basis for this framework was produced alongside  a full investigative RKC report into the health and welfare issues facing dogs and the RKC’s connection to them compiled by Dr Alison Skipper. This report too has been published and can be accessed here.
